Why Homeowners Choose Us

An established local company that does one thing: residential concrete driveways

We are a Fort Lauderdale company focused entirely on residential flatwork. That means your driveway isn't squeezed in between commercial jobs — it is the job. Homeowners deal with the same estimator who measured the driveway and the same supervisor who runs the crew, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the pour.

Concrete is a smart fit for South Florida homes. It handles intense sun, heavy summer rain, and salt air without the constant joint maintenance a paver driveway needs. A single continuous slab gives weeds and ants far fewer places to work into, rinses clean with a hose, and holds a flat, even surface for decades when the base beneath it is built correctly. Pavers still have real strengths — pattern options and single-unit repairs — and for some homes they're the better choice. We'll tell you honestly which fits yours.

Broward County lots bring their own realities: sandy and filled soils, high water tables, swale drainage, and driveways that have to shed water away from the garage in a hard afternoon storm. We plan for those before a single form goes down.

Residential Services

Driveway work for homes across Fort Lauderdale

Everything we do is for houses and residential properties. No parking lots, no warehouses — just driveways, aprons, and the flatwork around them.

New Concrete Driveway Installation

Full residential driveway builds from layout and forming through base prep, reinforcement, pour, and finishing — sized to your home, your parking needs, and your yard's drainage.

Driveway Replacement

Cracked, sunken, or patched-over driveways removed and rebuilt properly. We correct the base, not just the surface, so the new slab has something solid to sit on.

Driveway Widening & Extensions

Extra width for a second or third vehicle, wider turning room near the garage, or a new parking pad on the side of the house — matched to the existing slab as closely as possible.

Concrete Aprons & Entry Sections

The apron where your driveway meets the street takes the hardest use. We rebuild aprons and entry sections with proper thickness and clean transitions.

Driveway Removal & Repour

Demolition, haul-away, regrade, and a fresh pour. Old asphalt, tired pavers, or failing concrete cleared out and replaced in one organized project.

Residential Driveway Repair & Surface Restoration

Section replacement, joint work, spalling and surface repair, or resurfacing when the slab underneath is still sound and worth keeping.

How It's Built

How a Concrete Driveway Is Built

A driveway is only as good as what's underneath it. Here is exactly what happens on your property, in plain language.

Diagram showing how a concrete driveway is built: excavation, compacted subgrade, crushed stone base, reinforcement, slab, control joints, and slope away from the garage
1

Excavation

Old surface and soil are removed to the right depth so the base and slab both have room. Skipping depth here is the most common reason driveways fail early.

2

Compacted Subgrade

The native soil is graded and compacted. South Florida sand and fill can settle unevenly, so this step is what keeps the slab flat years later.

3

Crushed Stone Base

A compacted crushed stone layer spreads vehicle loads and lets water drain away from underneath the concrete instead of sitting there.

4

Reinforcement

Rebar or welded wire mesh is set at the correct height in the slab. It doesn't stop hairline cracking, but it holds the slab together and keeps cracks tight.

5

Concrete Slab Thickness

Residential driveways are typically 4 inches, moved to 5–6 inches where heavier vehicles, trucks, or trailers park regularly.

6

Control Joints

Joints are cut at planned spacing so the concrete cracks where we decide, in a straight line you barely notice, instead of randomly across the middle.

7

Slope Away From The Garage

The finished surface is pitched away from the house and toward the street or swale so heavy afternoon rain runs off instead of pooling at your garage door.

Homeowner Research

What Fort Lauderdale homeowners ask before hiring

Straight answers to the questions people search for while comparing driveway companies — including how concrete stacks up against pavers.

Concrete Driveway Fort Lauderdale FL Cost: What Affects Price?

Price is driven by measurable things: total square footage, slab thickness, whether an existing driveway has to be demolished and hauled away, the reinforcement used, the finish you choose, how much regrading and drainage correction is needed, and how easily a truck and crew can reach the work area. A narrow gate, tight side yard, or long wheelbarrow run costs real labor time. Ask any contractor to itemize those items so you are comparing the same scope and not just the bottom number.

Best Concrete Driveway Fort Lauderdale FL: What Should Homeowners Look For?

Look for a company that specializes in residential flatwork rather than treating driveways as a side item. Ask about base depth and compaction, slab thickness, reinforcement type, joint spacing, and how they plan to slope the driveway away from the garage. A clear written scope, a realistic schedule, and someone who answers the phone during the project matter more than glossy marketing.

Lauderdale Concrete Reviews: What Matters Most?

Review counts are less useful than review patterns. Read for repeated themes: did the crew show up when promised, was the site cleaned, was the final price close to the estimate, and how did the company respond when something needed to be corrected? Reviews that describe the process in detail tell you far more than a wall of five-star ratings with no text.

Comparing Local Reviews Before You Hire

Homeowners researching names like Service Queen Pavers and Concrete or A1 Pavers and Concrete USA, or searching phrases such as Fort Lauderdale pavers reviews, are usually trying to answer one question: who will do this correctly? Compare companies on the same criteria — scope clarity, residential experience, licensing and insurance, warranty terms, communication, and cleanup — rather than on marketing claims. Every established company has a mix of reviews; how they handle the imperfect ones is the useful signal.

Concrete Driveway vs Driveway Pavers in Fort Lauderdale

Driveway pavers are a genuinely good product and some homes suit them better. The practical differences for South Florida homes are maintenance, seams, cost, and repair style. Concrete is one continuous surface that is easy to rinse and has fewer places for weeds and ants to settle. Pavers offer pattern and color and can be lifted and reset individually, but joints need sand maintenance and settling shows up over time.

What To Ask Before You Book Any Driveway Contractor

Ask how deep the excavation goes, what base material is used and how it is compacted, the slab thickness in inches, the reinforcement type, the joint layout, the cure and drive-on timeline, who handles demolition and haul-away, how drainage is being handled, and what the warranty actually covers. Get it in writing. Any reputable contractor will answer all of it without hesitation.

FAQ

Concrete driveway questions, answered

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Fort Lauderdale?

Most residential driveway projects in Fort Lauderdale land in a range driven by square footage, slab thickness, whether the old driveway has to come out, reinforcement, finish, and how easy the site is to work in. A straightforward single-width replacement costs far less than a wide circular driveway with demolition, regrading, and a decorative finish. Our calculator gives you a realistic planning range in about a minute, and a site visit turns that into a firm number.

Is concrete or pavers better for my driveway?

Both work in South Florida. Poured concrete gives you one continuous surface with fewer seams, less weed and ant activity, simple cleaning, and typically lower cost per square foot. Pavers give you more pattern and color options and individual units can be lifted and reset. If you want low maintenance and a clean modern look, concrete usually wins. If you want detailed patterning, pavers are worth the premium.

How thick should a residential concrete driveway be?

Four inches over a properly compacted base handles normal cars and SUVs. We recommend 5 to 6 inches where a work truck, RV, boat trailer, or delivery vehicle regularly drives or parks, and at the apron where the driveway meets the street. Thickness only performs if the base underneath it was prepared correctly.

How long does a new concrete driveway last?

A properly built residential concrete driveway in Broward County commonly lasts 25 to 40 years. Lifespan comes down to base preparation, correct thickness, reinforcement, joint spacing, and drainage. Driveways that fail in under ten years almost always had a thin or poorly compacted base, not bad concrete.

How long before I can drive on it?

Plan on staying off the new slab with foot traffic for about 24 hours, and keep vehicles off for roughly 7 days. Heavy trucks or trailers should wait closer to 10 to 14 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks after the pour, so the extra patience early on protects the surface for decades.

Do I need reinforcement?

We include reinforcement on virtually every residential driveway. Welded wire mesh is standard, and rebar on a grid is the better choice for thicker slabs, heavier vehicles, wider spans, or areas with less predictable soil. Reinforcement doesn't prevent all cracking — it keeps any cracking tight and keeps the slab acting as one piece.

How do control joints help?

Concrete shrinks slightly as it cures and moves with temperature. Control joints are cut at planned spacing so that movement releases along a straight, intentional line instead of a random crack across your driveway. Correct joint spacing relative to slab thickness is one of the clearest signs of a crew that knows flatwork.

Can you replace part of a driveway or is full replacement better?

Partial replacement makes sense when the damage is limited to a defined area — a broken apron, one settled section, or a corner damaged by a root. When cracking shows up in multiple places, the slab is too thin, or the base has failed, full replacement gives you a better result and a consistent appearance. We tell you plainly which situation you're in.
